Overall, the journal is cute and fun to use, but it doesn't work with background noise like a TV or people talking. Since the journal is more likely intended to be used in the privacy of your own quiet room, I don't see sensitivity to noise being an issue for a teen girl. For the younger ones, who like to share and show off their journal, it can be a bit frustrating. My daughter has had the journal for a week and probably opens and closes it ten or more times a day. The original three AA batteries are still going strong and the journal isn't showing any signs of wear and tear yet.
My 8 yr. old daughter really likes My Password Journal. The journal has a beautiful flower print inside and on the outside. It has a password activated lock. I had to help my daughter set her password. You also have the intruder alert feature, an alarm will go off after multiple incorrect attempts. You can then hear the voice of the last intruder. The journal also has a secret compartment that you can store small items. You can write in your notebook with and invisible ink pen that you could see with the built in black light. If you run out of things to write about the journal has plenty of ideas to help you. Set up and batteries are needed.
My 8 yr old daughter received this journal and loves it. Very age appropriate and she loves how she has to speak her password to open. It took her a few times to get used to the voice recognition but now is a pro. The internal light works well and provides plenty of light for her to read and write when the lights are out. Great feature is the auto turn off so batteries will not drain. The journal seems well built and sturdy. We love the design of it and the secret compartment is great to hide little trinkets or notes.
My daughter is 10. She was excited to get this. She opened it up right away and was able to program it to her voice very easily. She likes that her little brother can't get into it (most of the time). She recorded a message telling him to stay out when it doesn't recognize the voice. He knows what her password is but unless he says it in the right tone, it won't open.
The amount of pages seem reasonable. This is a good little diary for a little girl who want a sense of privacy.
She has been using it for a few weeks and feels that it is secure.
