Great Product
Date:August 21, 2015
Pros: great packaging
Cons: takes a few tries for the password
My 7 year old loves this journal! She thinks the intruder alert is the best thing ever! It was pretty simple to set up. You just have to be careful how you talk when setting up the password. It took about 3 tries before my daughter got it right. Otherwise it's awesome! Comes packaged really well but still very easy to remove. I was really impressed with the packaging. Overall great journal!

Fun Journal
Date:August 21, 2015
Pros: Durable
This is a neat journal that is fun to use! My daughter was able to set it up on her own and had fun teasing her younger brother about him not being able to sneak into it. He has tried and was not able to unlock it! The journal will playback the voice of whoever tries to open it. The difficult part of the Password unlock is needing complete silence when speaking your password. There can not be any background noise or the journal will not open. The invisible ink and blue light are fun to play around with. I really like the writing prompts that will give her ideas for when she wants to write but doesn't know where to start. The hidden compartment is pretty small but a neat idea for the little things she treasures.

Fun product for preteens
Date:August 21, 2015
Pros: High quality, adds imagination
Cons: Low quality, color reference buttons were different than in man
I opened and played with this product before giving it to my 9 year old daughter to try out. This is a very colorful product making you happy to open it and see what's inside! It's also made of a very durable plastic and easy to add batteries into the battery compartment. After reading both the instructions that came in the box and trying it out myself, it is very easy to use for the age group it's intended for. I liked that the secret compartment was larger than expected and the "voice" of the diary is hilarious when you are an "intruder". The only cons I have incurred so far are the color reference guide for the buttons (in the manual) were calling the buttons white when my product has neon yellow buttons...not a huge deal for me but may be for a child. Also the notepad seems a weird size if you needed to replace it. Overall, I liked this product and my 9 year old daughter has been bugging me to let her have it!!!

Really fun toy with neat features
Date:August 21, 2015
Pros: High quality
Diaries for little girls have come a long way since the days of the pink ones that had a little lock & key. My daughter loves to write and is at that age now where she wants her own privacy so this is the perfect gadget for her! The fun begins when your child records a password, as well as an "intruder message". The diary will only open if that child says the password, because there is both word and voice recognition. The wrong voice and the wrong password, or the wrong voice and the right password don't open this colorful gadget. Also, the recorded "intruder message" will play when the wrong voice is detected, and the intruder's voice is recorded so the diary's owner knows for sure who was trying to break into her diary. All the recording or rerecording is very easy to do; just look at the diagram labeling the parts in the included directions, and hold the diary about a foot away when recording. The microphone hole is on the right, the speaker is on the left. The directions are printed in small type and look complicated at first; but once the child knows what button is what, she will not forget how to do anything. One of my daughter's favorite features is the prerecorded "hints" on what to write about... favorite this or that, happy this or that, dream this or that. The diary's "voice" sounds like an adult female and is very pleasant . The child can also record her own hints in her own voice as reminders of what to write about. An "invisible ink" pen is included, too, although the printed message is really not invisible. But the attached light does make the message a bit more illuminated. In addition, there is a secret compartment behind the pad for stashing small things, m daughter hid her money in there. It's all great fun, very colorful thick plastic, and appears to be quite well made. Three AA batteries are required, but not included. (The diary will not open until you install them.) If your child is into secrecy & loves writing then this will definitely be a huge hit!
