I purchased the Terrain Twister for my grandson's 7th birthday and he declared this "the best toy ever!" I was impressed with the toy's agility, it had no difficulty traveling across long wet grass, wet leafs, snow banks and the most fun environment, a small stream. It certainly lives up to its description. Just turning 7, he had no difficulty manipulating the remote control. He had the greatest time with the Terrain Twister in the stream, going back and forth, and climbing up the icy edge. He named his new toy, " the Ice Green Machine" and the Best Toy Ever, he said it was better than an RC car because you can't take it in the water and better than an RC boat because you can't take the boat on land. The only draw back is the battery life. The fully charged battery lasts about 20-25 minutes and he wasn't nearly ready to stop playing so we plan on purchasing another battery for a ready backup. He gives the Terrain Twister two thumbs up! And one very happy Grandmother!
Cons: not very good on land, no differential power or steering, power button could go bad
We have had this for over a year now and the thing just keeps going. We did have to replace the power switch on the vehicle.Pretty simple with a little soldering experience. It doesn't go on land very well but we got it for the pond anyway and it's a blast.too bad for the price they didn't put proportional steeriing. Its all or nothing.
Pros: High quality, works on all terrain, easy to drive
Cons: takes a while to recharge batteries
Just wanted to say we have a Hot Wheels Terrain Twister and love it! There are no shortage of RC cars on the market, but most need perfect conditions and just the right track to run well. With the Terrain Twister, it can race across anything! We put it in the mud, grass, carpet- and we even drove it straight into a pool. My boys, 8 and 10 had a blast with it.
The only negative is that it takes a while to recharge the batteries. Also, tip for parents - charge the battery up BEFORE you give this to the kids. I believe the first charge takes about 5 hours - and no kid wants to get a super cool looking Terrain Twister and then have to wait 5 hours to play with it.
