This has been one of the better looking dolls that has come out in the last 5 years. The hair extensions don't look as good on the doll as picture, but you can play around with styles to hide this fact. IMO the doll looks much better with short hair anyway.

Review 2 for BARBIE® HAIR-TASTIC!™ CUT & STYLE™ Doll
Better than expected
Date:April 2, 2013
Pros: ever changing looks, beautiful design, well made extensions
Cons: not suitable for the young barbie fan, extensions need to be pushed and twisted in, skirt nearly has barb-agina on show sometimes
After reading and hearing lots of bad reviews about this doll I was put off of it for months. However the concept is so good that I gave in and bought it. To my surprise it is a pretty decently made doll (pose-able legs) and is quite fun considering the amount of hair accessories you get with her (2 bands, plastic bow, 3 short extensions, 4 long ones, brush). I can see where the doll is being slammed- the hair pieces can be quite difficult to get in UNLESS it is done correctly- push and twist at the same time. The only flaw is that Mattel did not express this enough in the instructions (also in box). Thus this doll is not recommended for young girls and boys, I would say age 7+. This is no basic doll and should not be treated as such. The hair parts could easily fall to ruin under a boistrous 3/4 year old anyway.
The outfit also gets 10/10, it looks better in reality than the pictures with the faux velvet, and heels match the bow and complement the dress and brunette hair. I would choose this particular doll instead of the other 2 designs.
If you want it, get it. It does not take an engineer to put in the extensions- or so other reviewers would have you believe! It is also a great doll for the adult collecter- Ive often grabbed this doll the odd day and made my own hairstyles for nostalgias sake :D
