Cons: Low quality, Not durable, needs to be fixed quite often
This is the only thing my daughter asked for for Christmas. She is very happy with it. This is why I gave an overall rating of 3. I am sure every parent wants to make their childrens holiday wishes come true but........this house is nice to look at then all bets are off!! It is made VERY cheaply. The tables are wobbly, the towel rack doesn't stay together at all, the bed does not fit in the room, the doll holders break VERY easily, the carpet and the stair holders do not move smoothly. I would suggest that any one buying this house should glue it together as you assemble it. I also glued the shoes and crowns on the dolls with hot glue. The only reason that I would recommend this to another parent is only to make a child's wish come true but I would warn them ahead of time and tell them to look around , find it at as low a price as possilble, and keep the box until it is fully assembled !! For the wide variety of prices that are being asked the quality should be much better. I know toys are not indistructable but with normal play this is not what I would consider child friendly. I am glad I found it for one of the lower prices of the season because my daughter will not let me take it back!!
This was a disappointment for my daughter. The commercial makes everything look so easy...Cinderella glides down the staircase...but in reality, Cinderella jolts with force down the staircase...the slipper doesn't stay on the step (it keeps falling off when you flip it), Jasmine's "Mat" (ie: Elevator) is very hard to move up and down. The towel holder has fallen apart so many times that I finally just threw it away. The fridge falls over constantly...just cheaply made all around. We sold our Barbie Town home for this and that was a big mistake. The Dream Town home has an actual elevator, a working kitchen with everything in tact and with sounds...WAY more durable furniture, more things for the dolls to do...I will be buying another Town home as soon as possible.
Santa brought this for my daughter for Christmas this year and she LOVES it! She really seems to like that there is a room for every princess! While the promotional pictures show Tiana on the balcony, my daughter keeps putting her Rapunzel doll up there! LOL For me as a mother I love the fact that is easy to assemble and came with lots of furniture! No extra sets to buy to "complete". As a Disney fan/collector, I LOVED all the little themed play pieces that come with this! My ONLY negative about this set is Sleeping Beauty's Bed is a tad too long for the room. If the floor were about a 1/4 in longer or the bed a 1/4 inch shorter it would be perfect! If you love Disney as much as your little princess I HIGHLY recommend buying this! Matter of fact, this momma may have to buy one for herself! LOL
My 4 year old LOVES princesses and all she wanted for Xmas was this dream castle. It's been a disappointment from the eve my husband put it together. Parts were broken (but what were we to do... It was Xmas eve so we couldn't return), even now, that it is put together, parts don't stay together. For example the staircase is loose and won't stay together- the flying "magic carpet" regularly breaks off, the list goes on and on. Yes, my daughter plays with it but is usually disenchanted bc she gets frustrated with having to organize SO many parts. Disappointed!
