MONSTER HIGH® CATTY NOIR™ Doll

Superstitious never looked so super-stylish! Catty Noir is a furociously fab werecat with the fiercest fashion sense. She tears up the scene in a pink, feline-inspired skirt with a silver bodice and matching knee-high boots!

What a BEAUTIFUL doll!
Date:September 19, 2013
Pros: High quality, attractive design, nice character
Cons: possible tangles (hair/dress)
This doll is FANTASTIC. Easily one of my favorites of the series. She's very pretty, I like her color scheme and overall style.
Catty is the fifth official werecat in the Monster High character collection (sixth if you count the Create-A-Monster pack). She shares the same face mold as the somewhat difficult to find Toralei Stripe; but differences in the face paint, hair style, and body make her a unique doll. She is very different in mold to (Wal-Mart exclusive) Catrine DeMew - Catty has pointier ears. She's also the only werecat that does NOT have gloves molded on to her hands.
Catty's long pink hair is beautiful, soft, and easy to style. Her outfit is stunning! I really like the dress and it's well made. She comes with bracelets, ear rings, and a microphone to top it all off. The broken mirror boots are cute, too.
My Catty is mostly for display, though I do like to dress and pose my dolls. I treat her gently and have not had problems with her (though her shoulders seems a little tighter and more difficult to move than other dolls).
Because of her long hair and the long strands at the back of her dress, I can't say I would recommend her for younger children who will play rough with her. I can see tangles and knots becoming a problem. If you do buy this doll for a kid who is more active with their dolls, I suggest also buying a fashion pack with more solid skirt or dress that isn't going to drag the ground and get tangled.
Catty is a black cat and her character is very superstitious - her personality is based on the idea that it's "bad luck when a black cat crosses your path." I think this is fun, and her diary is a good little read. My favorite part is that, being a pop star she expresses disappointment when tabloids spread untrue rumors about her. I think it's good to show kids that rumors aren't always true and can even hurt people's feelings.

A really unique doll
Date:August 11, 2013
Pros: High quality, unique
The detail on Robecca will definitely inspire both kids and adult collectors. Robecca is 100% robot with rivets and paneling all over her body - including a heart-shaped panel on her chest (an adorable little detail that is only seen when changing her clothes). Even her eyes are gear shaped!
The gears on the back of Robecca's legs really spin. It seems that Mattel really wanted to make her unique.
Another unique feature in Robecca is that she is double jointed in her knees. Her lower legs can extend forward. I don't know WHY this design choice was made, as it only seems to apply to Robecca.
Robecca's outfit is cute, but better keep that stand in good shape because her cage skirt and short dress make it difficult for her to sit properly. The goggles are a bit cheap (solid plastic with no painted details), and look better on her head as a headband than over her eyes. Her rocket boots are fantastic and pretty exciting for science-fiction fans.
Her hair is easy to brush and to style. If you have problems with kinks in the hair from the packaging, I suggest braiding the hair and leaving it braided for a few days before combing it out again.

A fun mix-and-match product
Date:August 11, 2013
Pros: High quality, unique
Cons: bad design for ears
I think this is a really clever product idea. While the character dolls are all interesting, there is something about building and giving personality to your own doll that is really special.
Both heads in this pack are unique molds - different in shape from each other and from character dolls. The werewolf head with more rounded cheeks, and the dragon head more angular.
The dragon parts and certainly the star of this pack. Textured scales on the arms and legs, as well as green fins and nice details. The wings are a flexible material that will hold up to a lot of play, even if they occasionally fall out of the sockets on the back.
The werewolf body is a plain gray. While simple, I suppose it also allows you to leave off the ears and let it double as a zombie body, similar to Ghoulia's. It also takes well to the tattoo accessories in other Create-A-Monster kits.
The ears are an unfortunate pain. Because of the way the wig attaches, there is no way to attach the ears directly to the head, so instead they "clip" onto the hair. Except that the "clip" is poorly designed and it is almost impossible to get them to stay where you want them or to even stay in the hair at all!
The wig is a bit messy. If an expansion pack is within your price range, I'd suggest buying one to get a different wig. I personally find that the shorter wigs (like come with the Ghost or Cat Create-A-Monsters) look better than the longer wigs.
The clothes are simple but workable, and are even fun to mix and match with your character dolls' wardrobes. The werewolf jacket is especially fetching.
Not only are these toys fun to build and rebuild, but they also make nice spare parts, in case a character doll loses a hand.
Older girls will probably get a kick out of making their own unique characters to place in the Monster High world, but the small removable parts are not for younger girls who are prone to losing items.

A nice addition to Frankie's wardrobe
Date:August 11, 2013
Pros: High quality, good value
Cons: low color variety
When I purchased my Sweet 1600 Frankie, I wanted to have some alternate outfits for her. This is a nice pack, and a good value, with two outfits AND shoes/necklace/earring accessories.
The skirt is my favorite piece. The silver material looks nice and is of good quality. The shirt to wear with the dress is also of great quality, but the blue color blends with the shoulder strap on the skirt, and I can't help but think that the shirt would have been better if it were red or black.
The limited color pallet of blue/red/silver/black works with Frankie, and also suits Ghoulia. The mad scientist patterns also match well with a Robecca doll. Of course, you can always mix these pieces with ANY other doll for some fun, unique combinations.
The jacket is probably the least quality item in this group, as the lightning bolt collar seems rough, but even it looks nice enough on the dolls (and is still far better than my own attempts at creating doll clothes).
